A little bit about myself.

Hi there,

Nice to meet you! My name is Katelyn. I am a UX/UI Designer living in Southern Utah. Currently I work remotely as a Senior UX Designer on features relating to eComm, loyalty & savings for the midwest superchain Meijer.

Aside from being a full time UX/UI. I am also a Design Mentor @ADPList where I regularly chat with creatives around the world on Interview, leadership, portfolio and career advice. It's been an incredibly self-fulfilling journey and I feel very lucky to have connected with so many talented designers.

In 2021, I officially launched my private 1:1 UX/UI career coaching service. I have since helped many aspiring UX/UIs successfully transition to the field and land their dream job.

My work has been informed by experiences in print, brand identity systems, packaging, user experience, web development, and interactive. I have been on both the client and agency sides working with multi-disciplinary teams and the strategic and creative process in developing brands across a variety of digital and traditional mediums. I also have previous experience growing interactive teams and development processes from the ground up at interactive agencies. I have worked with numerous clients in various industries and collaborated with full-service agencies across the U.S.

If you need help and have no idea where to start, I specailize in helping you figure out your business challenges and suggesting the most cost-effective creative solutions that will get you more traffic, more leads, & more money. Luckily for you, I can take the hard parts off your plate, so that you can focus on running your business.

For custom projects, I strive to make every stage and phase a personal and thoughtful experience for every client I work with. Each client has their own set of goals and deliverables, so my aim is to fully research, scope, and estimate projects in collaboration with you.

Passion is everything.

If you don't enjoy what you're doing - move. You are not a tree. Channel your energy into something you believe in. I'm fortunate to be inspired and surrounded by motivated people who enjoy what they do. We only have so much time on this earth to live - so why waste it?

Always be learning.

Humans are constant works in progress that need to receive feedback in order to grow. I am always looking at ways to challenge and improve myself, which is why in my spare time I like to take online courses and certifications, read blogs, dabble in new projects and attend meetups.

Embrace your creativity.

Everyone needs a creative outlet of some sort - else, we'd go insane! When I'm not designing, I'm cooking up a storm in the kitchen, oil painting as a form of meditation and mentoring other designers to help them realize their potential with design.

Stay Humble.

It doesn't matter whether you're the president, manager, homeless or average kid on the street. Treat others with respect as you would yourself because ultimately we're all human sharing the same wants and needs and facing our own battles everyday. Stay true to yourself and stay true to others.
